Ahmed has over 40 years’ experience in ICT and community activism. Siyafunda Community Technology Centre develops information and community knowledge centres, where people can access computers, internet and other digital technologies enabling them to gather information, create, learn and communicate with others while developing essential digital skills. Through digital technologies, it supports community, economic, educational and social development, reducing isolation, bridging the digital divide, creating economic opportunities and reaching out to youth, women and girls. It has over 200 community partners in South Africa. Siyafunda has been honoured with numerous awards and plays an important role in providing access to information to help build intellectual capital, which is essential for developing social entrepreneurs, growing economies and connecting communities globally.
