Daniel is a technologist, entrepreneur, geo-information scientist, agricultural economist and a farmer. He has spent the last 16 years working at the nexus of development, entrepreneurship and science. Daniel is CEO of Esoko – Africa’s largest and pioneering technology platform, connecting rural people to digital services. He is a passionate speaker and ardent promoter of ICT for agriculture and rural development, advocating for increased digitisation of rural African economies. He bridges the gap between the realities of bottom of pyramid actors and technological innovations and is passionate about driving digital inclusion among underserved populations, especially smallholder farmers. Daniel is a fellow of the UN University-EHS and has a doctorate degree in Agricultural Economics and a double master’s degree in Geo-Information Science from the University of Twente, The Netherlands.
