Lalith is the co-founding director and CEO of Lanka Social Ventures, Sri Lanka’s first social enterprise incubator and accelerator. His professional career spans over 25 years in public, private and academic sectors and he has expertise and interest in policy and practice of SMEs and social enterprise development, technology & innovation and enterprise education. He has undertaken a range of research and consultancy assignments for governments and development agencies, including a research study on social enterprises in Sri Lanka on behalf of the British Council. Lalith has also held academic and research positions at Newcastle, Salford and Northumbria Universities and Trinidad & Tobago Campus of the University of the West Indies. His academic profile includes a master’s degree in Industrial Development from the University of East Anglia and a PhD in Economic Geography (SME Development) from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne.
