Born in Canada from Ethiopian parents, Leah has experience working with initiatives that improve the betterment of the African and Afro-Caribbean communities. Her first role as the Youth Coordinator for Africa Centre’s YEG The Come Up youth initiative was her first taste to leadership. Since then, she organised the first black youth conference in western Canada, assisted with a federally funded research project targeted towards minority groups, and developed a mentorship and scholarship programme for African and Afro-Caribbean youth. Now based in Addis, Leah is applying her experience as a project manager at R&D Group for the RISE Programme (Readying Investable Social Enterprises) in partnership with Challenges Catalysts and the British Council. She is also a certified Ethical and Life Coach and an accredited foundational mentor and coach from the European Mentoring and Coaching Council.
