Angel is Head of Society Philippines and the East Asia Social Enterprise Lead of British Council. Over the past five years, she has turned around British Council’s social development portfolio in the Philippines from a yearly funding of £75,000 to £1 million. Since 2015, she has been leading CSO-SEED an EU-funded programme that champions social enterprise as an alternative development pathway for conflict-afflicted areas in Southern Philippines. Through its network of advocates, they have successfully enshrined social entrepreneurship in a landmark legislation. In her spare time, she provides pro-bono mentoring to social enterprise start-ups and assists social enterprise intermediaries in strategy development and partnering. Angel earned her Master’s in Development Management degree from the Asian Institute of Management through a scholarship from the Asian Development Bank.
